Pasta Cacio E Pepe

100% Italian durum wheat. Contains bioengineered food ingredients. No drain. When thinking of traditional Italian cuisine, pasta is the dish that quickly comes to mind. Italians take great pride in producing pasta using only the finest durum wheat semolina and spring water to make dough. Durum wheat, with its high gluten content and low moisture, results in high quality pasta that cooks perfectly al dente. Literally translating to to the tooth al dente is the only way to cook pasta according to any Italian. This means the pasta should be firm, retain its shape, and feel good to the tooth, not mushy or overcooked. Leave it to the Italians to make a good thing even better! The pasta in this product is made to be enjoyed just like that, al dente, and has been specially made with very thin walls allowing it to cook much more rapidly than conventional types of pasta, taking about four minutes of cook time. Along with this uniquely designed pasta, we have added simple, high quality ingredients to create the famed dish, Cacio e Pepe. Hailing from the area of Rome and literally translated in dialect, this cheese (cacio) and pepper (pepe) mix well with our 100% durum wheat semolina quick cook pasta to create a blend of flavors inspired by Italy itself. Alessi Cacio e Pepe delivers a spoon full of flavor with every bite. The rich, creamy pasta serves well as a compliment to most meals, especially lamb, beef, pork or chicken.
